The Oriskany Museum is open from Wednesday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by special appointment. Admission is free. Trinkaus Park, featuring the USS Oriskany Anchor and the A-4 Skyhawk fighter jet, is open from dawn til dusk.
Directions:
We are located on State Route 69 midway between Utica and Rome and five miles north of the I-90 NYS Thruway Exit 32 (Westmoreland). We are also accessible by way of Exit 33, near the Oneida Turning Stone Casino. This route will take you past the City of Rome, which features the reconstructed Fort Stanwix.
When exiting I-90 from Exit 32, turn left onto Cider Street, which leads directly into Oriskany. At the end of Cider Street, turn right onto Utica Street, proceed roughly a mile through the village of Oriskany. You will pass Oriskany High School and a traffic light before crossing the Oriskany Creek and arriving at the Oriskany Museum in Trinkaus Park.
If you choose to use Exit 33, please follow signs for Rome, then continue east toward Utica on Route 49. There is a sign for Oriskany. Turn right off the ramp until you reach a flashing red light at the intersection of Route 69 (beside Cliff's Gas Station). Take a left. This will take you past the museum where you can take a right at the Anchor to reach museum parking.
